Signe has been a board member since 2019. She has lived on Whidbey Island for over 20 years and spent her summers here while growing up. Signe is married with two daughters. She is proud to be involved with Friends of Friends and this wonderful community we live in.
Becky Foote – Treasurer
Becky has been a board member since 2003. Becky teaches math at the South Whidbey branch of Skagit Valley College and has been an active member of the FoF Finance Committee and is the current Treasurer.
Kathty has lived on Whidbey Island since 1980 with her husband Rocco and their three children. She taught at Langley Middle School and has recently retired. She has been active in the community in many ways, including being on the South Whidbey Youth Council Board and helping with Hearts and Hammers. Kathy feels blessed to be living in such a wonderful community and wants to contribute to others who need help. After her husband was a Mr. South Whidbey candidate, she thought it would be fun to be a part of such a needed organization. Kathy has joined the fundraising committee.
Cara Hefflinger – Secretary
Cara has been a board member since January 2017. She is a life-long Whidbey Islander who grew up in Langley. Currently she works for USPS, and is a wildlife photographer.
Kristi Kammenga Price – Vice President
Kristi joined the Friends of Friends Board in the summer of 2015. Her career as a financial advisor on South Whidbey allows a work/life balance so she can stay connected and participate in community building. Kristi is a life-long islander and lives in Freeland with her husband and poodles. Kristi enjoys serving as chairperson for the Mr. South Whidbey Pageant and as the Vice President of the Board.
MaryJane Lungren – President
MaryJane joined the board in 2011. A dentist practicing in Langley, she formerly worked for Island County Public Health and has lived, along with her husband and three children, on Whidbey Island since 1990.
Barb has been on Whidbey since 1984. Previously involved in the PTA, she is excited to again be taking an active role in one of our community’s direct support organizations. While working at a local pharmacy, she saw the good work being done by FoF almost daily. She has enjoyed being on the board since 2009 and enjoyed serving as the immediate past President.
Emily has lived on South Whidbey for over 40 years. She has been active in many community venues through the years, serving 6 years on the Board of Hearts and Hammers and teaching preschoolers and high-risk school-age children for decades. Emily originally joined the Friends of Friends Board as a member of the Public Relations Committee.
Katie joined the FOF board in 2019. She and her husband Rod moved to Whidbey Island in 2007. Rod has been a full time volunteer at WCT and a Mr. South Whidbey candidate in 2017. Katie has recently retired as a registered nurse and is also a retired Dentist, and now has time to give back. Katie is excited to bring her past experience to FOF, having spent many years on PTA boards, starting a Dental non-profit to provide dental care to those in need, worldwide volunteer trips, and a strong desire to help the community.
