Types of Planned-Gift Commitments

  • Gift through a will or living trust.

  • Beneficiary designation on a variety of assets, including IRAs, 401(k)s, 403(b)s, qualified retirement plans,

    life insurance, brokerage accounts, bank accounts (checking or savings), and real estate.

  • Life income arrangement (charitable remainder trust).

  • Remainder interest in your home.

Suggested Clauses for Bequest Gifts

All decisions regarding estate planning should be discussed with your legal advisor.

I. A specific amount or percentage

I give, devise and bequeath (insert here the sum, percentage, or description of property), to Friends of Friends Medical Support Fund, a nonprofit
corporation as described in section 170(b) of the Internal Revenue Code, located at PO Box 812, Langley, WA 98260 to be used for its tax-exempt purposes.

II. The remainder of your estate after you have met family and other goals:

I give, devise and bequeath all (or a portion -- for example, fifty percent [50%]) of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate to Friends of Friends Medical Support Fund, a nonprofit corporation as described in section 170(b) of the Internal Revenue Code, located at PO Box 812, Langley, WA 98260 to be used for its tax-exempt purposes.

III. A Gift that occurs only under a specific circumstance.

In the event that (insert name of primary beneficiary) shall not survive me, or shall die ninety (90) days from the date of my death, then I give, devise and bequeath (insert here the sum or residual portion of the estate that would have been given to the primary beneficiary) to Friends of Friends Medical Support Fund, a nonprofit corporation as described in section 170(b) of the Internal Revenue Code, located at PO Box 812, Langley, WA 98260 to be used for its tax-exempt purposes.
